This year we decided to personalise the Christmas cards we send our tenants and asked if anyone would be interested in designing one. We had a good response for our first year and asked Gwenne, one of our board members and director to judge the entries. As it was our first year we also sent out a small thank you to all entrants and got a photo and thank you back from one our our residents which touched our hearts. Thank you everyone.
I had the great honour in being the judge for the IKE Christmas card competition this year. Firstly can I say what a wonderful selection of pictures I received, they all truly captured the spirit of Christmas. It was a very difficult task to choose only four, as they were all unique and I could tell a lot of effort had been put into the creation of the pictures. Well done to all of you and congratulations to the winners.
Gwenne Coltman – Judge
In November Stephen P entered the IKE housing Christmas card competition and he has received this thank you for entering which as you can see he is so happy. As he is on a minced and moist diet he can not eat these whole so we are going to blend them with a bit of milk and a bit of ice cream to make a Malteser thick milkshake just like McDonalds.
Due to Stephen not being capable of using his hands much, I was the artist he was the instructor. He told me everything he wants, how he wanted, colour, etc and told me which bits to do again! The holly is hand drawn and the reindeer is printed but he wanted to add baubles to its antlers. From the day Halloween was over he was saying Merry Christmas so he wanted that on too.
